The TGBS Mentoring Programme is a standalone service that supports practitioners, institutions, and government agencies in building the ecological knowledge and practice needed to deliver credible biodiversity outcomes. It is aligned to the TGBS assessment framework but is distinct from the independent certification process. The two are kept separate to preserve the integrity of assurance.

Our 3 Modules
Mentoring is delivered through three flexible modules:
  • TGBS EssentialsCore knowledge on setting baselines and references, stakeholder engagement and enhancing biodiversity protection.
  • TGBS SustainabilityAdvanced implementation, long-term monitoring, and adaptive management.
  • TGBS EnrichmentSpecialist topics, including seed-based restoration, genetic diversity, and invasive species control.

These modules can be delivered in two main formats:

  • Group workshops – Collaborative learning for teams and organisations.
  • One-to-one mentoring – Tailored support for individual practitioners or project developers.

Engagement can be short-term (focused sessions) or long-term (comprehensive capacity-building programmes).

What our mentees say about the Programme…

“I learnt that restoration is not about planting trees.”

“The 5-day mentoring program exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend all teams working on restoration projects to go through this TGBS mentorship program.”
