About the Program: The TGBS Mentoring Programme is intended to support restoration practitioners and project leaders to improve positive outcomes for biodiversity, ecosystems, and communities. By fostering best practices in tree planting, agroforestry, and ecological restoration, the program offers tailored support to help align projects with TGBS standards and drive measurable improvements in ecological integrity.
Who is it for? The program is designed to support a range of restoration project implementers and practitioners, including:
- Restoration Practitioners & Consultants: Seeking to implement international standards.
- Private Sector & Agri-business: Companies involved in land rehabilitation, carbon schemes, or regenerative agriculture seeking to increase impact.
- NGOs & Community Organizations: Groups involved in reforestation seeking to enhance biodiversity outcomes.
- Governments: Teams implementing biodiversity-friendly policies and green infrastructure.
What you will learn: The curriculum is designed to help practitioners achieve successful alignment with The Global Biodiversity Standard, covering:
- TGBS Criteria & Methodology: Understanding the core principles and scoring system.
- Project Eligibility: How to define baselines and reference models.
- Biodiversity Monitoring: Tools for measuring ecosystem recovery.
- Social Safeguards: Stakeholder engagement and community benefits.
Format & Location: The program takes place in Brazil and features a hybrid format: 28 hours of online sessions combined with an exclusive 8-hour in-person immersion at the Araribá Botanical Garden (Amparo/SP).
